Introducing the Water Rower We now have another option for cardio day for those that want something other than running and biking! Introducing the brand new water rower!
As you can see, the water rower stores upright against the wall in the bench press back room. With minimal effort you can slowly lower the rails to the ground and start rowing.
The rower is very “bottom heavy” so do not be intimidated by transitioning from upright to down position.

Equipment Check - Rogue AB-3 Bench
The Rogue AB-3 Bench Taking up a prime location right in-front of the mirror lies the Rogue AB-3 Bench. Only one word can sum up the experience of using this bench, solid. The bench is made from heavy steel construction, and the pad is extremely sturdy as well. This will likely be your go-to for everything from incline/decline weights to serious abdominal exercises.
Setup The bench as shown is fully configurable to suit the particular task at hand.

Equipment Check - Lifting Platform
The Lifting Platform In the heart of the gym there is a platform, on which legends are created. This is the main lifting platform of the gym. A lifting platform is a sturdy construction of which it’s main function is to protect the floors from wayward dropped weights.
Typically movements in this space consist of deadlift, snatch, clean, presses, as well as many other epic compound movements, all of which take the weights from the floor.

Equipment Check - Rogue Landmine Attachment
The Rogue Landmine Attachment Attached to the base of the squat rack is a highly versatile tool to which you should absolutely add to your belt. The Rogue Landmine attachment allows for a wide variety of compound exercises allowing to focus on particular aspects of rowing, leg and pushing movements.
In this post we will talk about setup, and cleanup of this attachment. As shown in the figure above, the attachment is bolted to the bottom of the squat rack, on the far side with respect to the front door.

The Rogue Slinger The Rogue Slinger is a Squat Rack mounted gravity cable system which allows for various pull-down exercises, such as the lat pull down, lat pull ins and others. This heavy duty cable system is a great addition to the gym.

The Bench Press The Rogue Monster Westside Bench Press is truly a monster. This bench press is made of 3"x3" steel, and includes an extra-wide bench pad called the “Fat Pad.” Weighing approximately 400 lbs, this bench press is ready to take on your most impressive lifts. On the bench “J-Cups” is the iconic Rogue Ohio Bar.
What Is It For? There is only one purpose for this equipment, and that purpose is to perform the Bench Press.

Equipment Check - Rogue Matador Dip Station
Matador Dip Station The Rogue Matador can look like an intimidating piece of equipment. The angled horns protruding resemble an unholy cold steel tuning fork. Below is an image from Rogue’s site.
What Is It For? The Matador is a Squat Rack mount-able variable grip dip station. A dip is an upper body compound movement which utilizes multiple muscle groups throughout the range of motion. The primary muscle groups involved in the dip movement are chest, triceps and anterior deltoids.

Playing Music At Newtown Fitness Club we have installed a Bluetooth stereo receiver for our user’s to connect to and stream their music while they are working out. In this post we will go over the process to connect to and disconnect form the receiver.
The Bluetooth Receiver shown above is the exact one we have installed in the facility. The actual receiver box is in the small closet immediately adjacent to the heavy punching bag.

We want to make sure that you have access to all of the resources you could want for the success of your workout. Feel free to stream movies/videos and music for your workout.
Below you will see the Network Identifier for the Gym’s WiFi. During your safety training and general orientation you will be given the WiFi password.
